We drove 3 hours from our home near Fort Davis, Texas to Odessa. This is the nearest town that has a full service airport. We spent the night at the Fairfield Inn.
We knew that Germany was 7 hours ahead of us so we went to bed an hour or so early to help get over the jet lag we would experience in the next few days. So, when we went to sleep at 9 P.M. local time, it was 4 A.M. Wednesday in Germany.
