In late July and early August 2008 my wife, Angie, and I traveled back to Germany. It was the first time for me since I left back in 1979. It was the first time ever for Angie.
Here are the photos we took while we were in Hoechst and at the old McNair Kaserne. (Remember, click on any photo to view an enlargement.)
Now let's walk on over from the Theater, Rec. Center, Library area over to the west side if the Kaserne itself.
The north-west corner of the Kaserne. The Library et. al. is behind us now.
Looking off to the left along the north of the Kaserne. Michael Barracks used to be off to the left.
Let's go on to the old west entrance...
There are a row of shops along this part of the Kaserne. This includes the Snack bar and everything near it on west side of the Kaserne.
Here's the old corner store where we used to pick up our morning snacks and whatnot before going to the Motor Pool. It's still open. Anyone remember the old name of the place?
